personally i thought his struggled and failed attempt was likely the point as well, however that was contradicted by the final scene at the theatre and the enthusiastic round of applause. but whatever the case it remains another excuse to post Leopardi!

how much i still have to learn
though i liked the other one better, the Jonas Mekas with Tim’s place. perhaps thanks to that voice speaking in the strange accent, the silence poem, it was stunning (while here the sparkling letters didn’t work for me).

actually i find the idea somehow funny, i mean, that is what all this is about, an attempt of an american actor to approach italian culture, why should anybody expect him to recite in perfect italian? i don’t understand these accusations of “butchering” the language. anyway, i had fun watching, thank you
